Valeri Chekheria and Levan Berulava are hospitality innovators who are widely credited with playing a key role in Georgia’s rapid ascension over the past decade as a global cultural hub and tourist destination. Starting in 2022 they took on partner roles at SLOW group with Valeri Chekheria becoming Director Strategic Projects and Levan Berulava Director Hospitality Culture.
Raised amid the chaos and conflict of the 90s, they studied at Columbia University in New York, then returned to Georgia to join Adjara Group Hospitality.
With Valeri as CEO and Levan as General Manager and then Managing Director, they oversaw the opening of Adjara's wildly successful Rooms hotels, Stamba, Lolita, Fabrika and more, stimulating diverse sectors of the Georgian economy through their support of local farmers, artists, artisans and other producers and helping to bring global recognition, investment and cultural cachet to the country as a whole.
